Did you know that gardening can seriously damage your hearing?
25 September 2013
The grass is growing, the flowers are blooming and the hedge needs trimming but garden maintenance can be a noisy experience. Most home gardeners are unaware of just how loud their power equipment is and the damage they can do to hearing during use.
The loudness of a typical lawnmower engine is 95-105dB, a leaf blower 103dB and a hedge trimmer 91-103dB.
The safe sound exposure level in a working environment is regulated at 85dB, above this level sound begins to damage hearing, this can begin as ringing in the ears (tinnitus) for a few hours and with continued exposure result in permanent degradation of the hearing.
Crescendo Gardening has been designed to reduce sound from these tools by a CE/ANSI certified 24dB/16dB, bringing the sound down to a safe level so you can enjoy cutting the grass even if the neighbours don’t!
Crescendo Gardening also has an open-air passage to the ear that minimises the occlusion effect while keeping the ear ventilated for optimum comfort. Crescendo Gardening ear tips and filters are fully washable ensuring perfect protection every time.
The Crescendo Gardening is available as of mid September 2013.
